Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualifications & Language Command
  • Academic Degree: Must hold a regular Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a government-recognized university or its official equivalent.
  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must possess an active ability to read, write, and speak the regional state language (Bengali). This baseline communication parameter is not mandatory for applicants whose native mother tongue is Nepali.
  • Evaluation Note: Proficiency and working command of the regional language will be actively evaluated during the concluding personality test phase.
  1. Age Boundaries & Category Relaxations
  • Minimum Age Limit: 20 Years Completed
  • Maximum Age Limit: 39 Years
  • Upper Age Relaxations: Age relaxations apply smoothly to reserved profiles belonging exclusively to the home state:
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: Upper ceiling extended by 3 Years (Up to 42 Years).
    • SC / ST Candidates: Upper ceiling extended by 5 Years (Up to 44 Years).
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Eligible for structural upper age relaxation scaling up to 45 Years.
    • Outstation Candidates: SC, ST, and OBC applicants from other states are treated under General/Unreserved parameters with no age relaxation benefits.
  1. Application Registration Fees
  • General / Unreserved / OBC Candidates: Rs. 160/- (plus standard online payment gateway processing charges).
  • SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: Nil (Fully exempted from fee payment).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The competitive hiring layout uses a progressive multi-stage screening system:

  • Stage 1: Preliminary Examination: An objective-type screening test comprising 100 multiple-choice questions for a total of 200 marks. The structure spans General Studies (75 questions / 150 marks) and Arithmetic (25 questions / 50 marks). Negative marking is applied for incorrect attempts. Marks here serve as a screening filter and do not count toward final merit.
  • Stage 2: Final Examination (Mains): A conventional, descriptive-type written exam carrying a total of 450 marks across three distinct papers: Paper-I (English – 150 marks), Paper-II (Regional Language – 150 marks), and Paper-III (General Studies & Arithmetic – 150 marks).
  • Stage 3: Personality Test: Shortlisted qualifiers from the conventional written merit phase undergo a formal interview round carrying a 100-mark evaluation weightage.

  • Upload Scanned Documents: Attach clean, legible digital copies of your passport-size photograph, signature block, and mandatory proof documents like a Madhyamik or equivalent board certificate.
