Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants must strictly meet the following educational, experiential, and age requirements:

  1. Educational Qualifications & Certifications
  • Required Degrees: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in a relevant scientific discipline. Eligible fields include Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Science, Fisheries Science, Biotechnology, Food Safety, Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, Dairy Technology, or Oil Technology.
  • Mandatory Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in food analysis is required.
  • Professional Exam: Candidates must have successfully cleared the official Food Analyst Examination conducted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
  1. Age Limits (Calculated as of August 1, 2026)

The absolute minimum age to apply is 21 years. The maximum age limits vary by category:

  • Unreserved Male Candidates: Up to 37 years
  • Unreserved Female Candidates: Up to 40 years
  • Backward Class (BC) Male & Female: Up to 40 years
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST) Male & Female: Up to 42 years

Special Age Relaxations:

  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are entitled to a 10-year age relaxation.
  • Regular state government employees with at least 3 years of continuous service receive a 5-year relaxation.

Selection Process & Examination Pattern

Selection is based entirely on the merit score achieved in a mandatory written competitive examination, followed by standard document verification.

Computer-Based Test (CBT) Details

  • Exam Mode: Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Total Marks & Duration: 100 Marks over a total duration of 2 hours.
  • Language: Question papers will be bilingual, available in both Hindi and English.
  • Negative Marking: A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • Score Normalization: If the exam is conducted across multiple shifts, a statistical score normalization method will be applied to ensure fairness.

Minimum Passing Thresholds

To qualify for the merit list and proceed to document verification, candidates must secure the following minimum percentages based on their category:

  • General / Unreserved: 40%
  • Backward Class (BC): 36.5%
  • Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 34%
  • SC, ST, Female, and PwBD Candidates: 32%

Step-by-Step Application Guide

1. Access the Official Recruitment Portal:

Go to the official commission website and click on the active application link for the Food Analyst vacancy.

2. Register and Complete the Profile: 

Create a new user account, log in, and fill out the online registration form with accurate personal, contact, and educational details.

3. Verify Identity & Upload Certificates: 

Provide a valid government photo identification number (such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Driving License). Digitally upload all required educational certificates, experience letters, and clearing certificates.

4. Process the Application Fee:

Pay the fixed application processing fee of Rs. 100/- using an online payment gateway (Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI). Download and save your digital payment receipt.

5. Final Submission and Printout:

Carefully review your data as no changes can be made after submission. Click ‘Submit’, download the final application confirmation PDF, and keep 5 identical copies of your passport-sized photograph safe for the upcoming exam phases.
