The competitive recruitment layout follows a strict multi-stage qualifying framework:
Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The preliminary examination carries a total of 100 marks divided across objective and subjective sections:
- General Knowledge: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (50 Marks).
- English Composition: 20 Multiple Choice Questions (20 Marks) + Subjective Descriptive Section (30 Marks) covering Essay Writing, Letter Drafting, Précis Writing, and Hindi-to-English translation.
- Negative Marking: A standard penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect objective answer.
- Qualifying Baseline: Candidates must secure a minimum of 33% in each subject section individually, with an aggregate score of at least 40% to clear the CBT block.
Stage 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
